18 Jun A Nordic Symphony Support Act
We are proud to announce the band that will support Tarja and Stratovarius during the October run, A Nordic Symphony:
Formed in 2010 by Maggiebeth Sand and Mark Powell, English symphonic rock/metal band, Serpentyne, are authors of a musical movement characterised by a merging of sound and styles.
Their first album, “Stella Splendens” (2010) was based solely on medieval music and mythical themes featuring the ethereal voice of Maggiebeth and Mark’s hurdy-gurdy. Their second, “Myths and Muses” (2014) added elements of world to the band’s sound, giving it an additional spirit more lively, and rhythmic, and less “classic”.
The latest album,The Serpent’s Kiss” (2016) aligns Serpentyne with symphonic metal bands such as Epica, Within Temptation and Nightwish, but also with the Celtic metal of Eluveitie.
Within that Maggiebeth Sand’s voice combines, expression, technique and timbre, to have a uniquely original sound and style within the folk / symphonic panorama.
