Tarja Turunen’s solo career has already lasted 20 years, and she draws large crowds to her concerts, especially in America and Europe. Yet, here in Finland, few people know what the woman who broke the boundaries of metal with her operatic sound is doing today.

 The creators of the “The World’s Best Alexi Laiho” podcast, Grym and Hakanen, follow Tarja Turunen’s journey from filming in Pasila first to the artist’s roots in North Karelia, then to her home in Spain, and finally to Tallinn, where her 2025 world tour started — which will also stop at Helsinki’s Tuska Festival in June!
